The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA), alongside a coalition of housing sector and municipal partners, is set to host a press conference to urge the BC Government to establish a Permanent Provincial Housing Policy Roundtable. This initiative aims to foster collaborative policy development to address the province's escalating housing affordability crisis.
The proposed roundtable is designed to create a formalized process for housing policy experts from diverse sectors to work together with the provincial government. This collaborative approach is seen as crucial for developing more effective housing policies and achieving better outcomes, especially in light of the unprecedented housing affordability challenges facing British Columbia.
The press conference will feature speakers representing various facets of the housing sector, including municipal representatives and leaders from market and non-market housing groups. Members of the public will be able to view the event via a live stream, while media will have the opportunity to ask questions both in person and through a teleconference.
The event is scheduled for Monday, September 29, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Pacific Time. In-person registration for media will begin at 9:30 am PT.
