The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA), alongside a coalition of housing sector and municipal partners, is set to host a press conference calling for the establishment of a Permanent Provincial Housing Policy Roundtable. This initiative aims to foster collaborative policy development to address the escalating housing affordability crisis in British Columbia.
The proposed roundtable would create a formalized process for housing policy experts from academia, market and non-market housing groups, Indigenous communities, and municipal governments to work together with the provincial government. The goal is to develop more effective housing policies and achieve better outcomes during the current housing affordability crisis.
The press conference is scheduled for Monday, September 29, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am PT. Media will have the opportunity to ask questions following prepared statements, with options for both teleconference and in-person attendance. A live stream will also be available for the public.
Media interested in participating via teleconference can register to receive conference details. For those wishing to attend in person at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, limited spots are available, and an RSVP is required by Friday, September 26. Public viewing will be accessible via a live stream link.
